About Kaombo FPSO
The Kaombo offshore project is located approximately 150km offshore Angola (Block 32). Two converted FPSO units will each have an oil treating capacity of 115,000 barrels per day, a water injection capacity of 200,000 barrels per day, a 100 million scfd gas compression capacity and a storage capacity of 1.7 million barrels of oil. Produced oil and associated gas will be transferred to the Angola LNG plant in Soyo. (Please see PJV LNG references)
PJV manufactured and supplied a range of valves to our customer for their Sea Water Treatment package including, Ball, Butterfly, Globe, Check and Needle valves. PJ Valves also manufactured a secondary requirement for SBB and DBB valves.
Due to corrosive nature of Sea-water, Duplex and Super Duplex stainless steels, and Ni Al-Brz formed a significant portion of the scope of supply.
PJ Valves were able to identify significant cost savings through detailed review of the specification, including a justification for using side entry ball valves in place of top entry valves that was agreed by EPC contractor and achieved a cost saving for our client.
PJ Valves worked closely with our raw material supply chain to ensure successful delivery of this project in phased deliveries starting at 18 weeks. Valves were manufactured fully to agreed specification, and PJ Valves worked closely with our client to ensure the complex documentation requirements were met on time.
