Samawa and Dhi Qar Power

| Iraq | GE | Power station development

Project background

The Samawa and Dhi Qar projects are aiming to help Iraq overcome major electrical power shortfalls and supply disruptions and are therefore strategically important for the country. The project finance was organised by GE who introduced Export Credit Agencies – including UK Export Finance. PJ Valves’ UK content was supplied to the project, thereby enabling the project to draw on UK government loan guarantees and other forms of finance.

Scope of Supply

Manufacture and supply of bulk valve packages to two new power stations. We supported our client team with bulk valve supply, which enabled our client team to focus on other areas of the project. Complex logistics included the Iraq import process and the shipping of large tonnage over the Christmas period.
