Project background
The Angelin development, originally discovered by the El Diablo well in 1995, includes a new platform and four wells. It is located 60km off the south-east coast of Trinidad in a water depth of approximately 65m.
The new platform, BP’s 15th installation offshore Trinidad and Tobago, has a production capacity of 600 million standard cubic feet a day (mmscfd). Gas flows from the platform to the existing Serrette hub via a new 21km pipeline.

Scope of supply
We worked closely with our clients to meet end user specifications and special design requirements. PJ Valves manufactured and supplied all valves up to and including 10” in diverse pressure ratings, soft and metal seated, in materials such as Ni Al Br, CS, Stainless Steel. Integral Double Block and Bleed valves and Monoflange SBB and DBB valves were custom made to satisfy project dimensional requirements. In addition to the valve scope, PJ Piping, one of our group companies, supplied the associated pipe, flanges and fittings all to the BP GPO specifications.
Outcome
A blend of valves and piping, encompassing multiple individual purchase orders all to BP specifications would have resulted in dozens of individual purchase orders if the client had decided to split the scope. PJ Valves and PJ Piping managed the entire scope from their US and UK offices and factories. Schedule management and witness inspections were managed by local teams ensuring a smooth outcome for the customer in terms of reduced administration and on time delivery of products and documentation. We continued to support the customer in the commissioning phase for this project.
