Pioneiro de Libra FPSO

| Brazil | Petrobras | Full package of valves for an FPSO turret

Project background

The Libra EWT vessel was designed to operate on the Mero field – a large pre-salt discovery in Brazilian waters. The fit-for-purpose FPSO was designed to provide early well testing for up to 12 months to de-risk the reservoir exploitation plan, including the number and pattern of wells, rather than relying on projected data.

Scope of supply

PJ Valves supported the client at their tender phase, providing specification support and analysis, especially on API6A valves (supplied with custom made dimensions and bores). The scope of supply included Duplex large bore, metal seated manual and actuated valves and an HPU (hydraulic power unit) control system. PJ Valves utilised both in house manufacturing facilities and partner manufacturers to provide the most cost-effective and technically-compliant solution.

  • ½” to 24” valves Up to class 10k
  • Dual expanding gate valves up to 10k
  • High pressure and 10k double block and bleed valves

Outcome

Our project team worked closely with customer project teams in the UK and southeast Asia. Our customer reported that: “PJ Valves supported the project…and demonstrated a strong technical knowledge of their products.”
