About BP ACG (Azeri, Chirag, Gunashli)
The Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field lies 120km off the coast of Azerbaijan in 120m of water and contains 5.4 billion barrels of recoverable oil.
Our customer had an EPC contract to supply a Produced Water Treatment (PWT) system to this BP Caspian project. We had worked with our customer throughout their sales process - providing valve pricing and specification support. This meant that we developed a strong understanding of the project's needs and were able to work with the client to help reduce costs within the supply chain whilst maintaining the quality for which both PJV and our client are committed to providing. The quality/price balance was particularly interesting on this project due to the high specification of the valves and actuators and extensive material and functional testing requirements.
During the construction stage of this project, the engineering philosophy was revised. This resulted in Tungsten Carbide Coated (TCC) ball and seated ball valves being specified. PJV supplied both LF2 (LTCS) and F55 (super duplex) material ball valves, up to size 8", delivered to our customer's UK fabrication site, within 16 calendar weeks.
Valves supplied included actuated and manual ball valves, globe and check valves in super duplex and stainless steel.
We worked closely with the sub-contractor and BP directly to ensure the valves were supplied on time and enabled the project to be completed on schedule.
The package was shipped in time to get to site avoiding a potential lengthy delay due the environmental window in this region.
We received very strong customer feedback for our performance both pre and post order.
