Statoil Mongstad CHP
About Statoil Mongstad CHP
The Mongstad Combined Heat and Power project aimed to provide electricity to both the existing refinery and offshore platforms including Troll A.
We have developed a strong knowledge of Norsok specifications that enables us to ensure that we meet the often challenging specification and material origin requirements. This knowledge is particularly useful when supplying diverse packages - as was the case with this project. Our customer manufactured process package equipment for this combined heat and power project at the Mongstad refinery in Norway. We supplied Ball, Gate and Check valves; #150 and #800, Stainless Steel and Titanium valves with pneumatic actuation. The actuators complied with the Norsok TR0038 actuator specification - including closing times, tubing and fitting design and materials, control panel design and control panel components. Other specifications complied with included the M650 material specification which specifies the use of raw materials from specified, approved foundries and the M501 painting specification. All valves were subject to NDT.
This kind of complex package also requires very close production management and sub supplier control. The net result was that we delivered the package earlier than our 28 weeks commitment. We received very positive feedback from the customer. Positive comments were passed about our product performance, our product expertise and the quality and on time performance of the complex documentation package.
